One-to-one talking therapy in a confidential setting is the primary form of treatment that we offer patients. We work with patients in both long and short-term durations. Sometimes people require shorter term work to directly address and to become unstuck with one particular issue. In achieving greater understanding and progress with specific treatment goals, you may find yourself wishing to continue exploring and expanding the scope of how psychotherapy can help you. Some patients may work for several months and take a break, returning later when they need more active support and reinforcement. Each person will find the form of psychotherapy most helpful for them with the help of one of our experienced clinicians.
During your initial in-person consultation is when critical questions such as the frequency of sessions, setting the fee, and policies on breaks and remote work can be fully elaborated. This is critical in making an ethical and clear agreement between patient and therapist. The start of therapy is also when powerful feelings and associations will inevitably be aroused, providing a rich opportunity to understand some of the key issues that will orient your treatment. At its heart, this is what excellent psychotherapy must become: your treatment.

We run two types of groups:
- Psychoanalytic process group: we run an open-ended weekly psychotherapy group with adults of all ages and genders. This is a closed group and it may not always be possible to join immediately but if you are interested then please contact us and we will add you to the waiting list, or let you know if we have enough interest to start a second weekly group. This type of therapy is concerned with how things are here and now. The group looks at how the past is relevant to the present with the guidance of the therapist. This group aims to build strong internal links in pursuit of a collective commitment to furthering the group's (and in turn each of its member's) capacities of insight and observation. Group sessions last 75 minutes and the fee per session is £50.
- Eight-week small study group: this is a programme designed for anyone interested in better understanding themselves within the contexts of organisations and social structures. This is especially relevant to workplace dynamics (also to family life) and might also be helpful to those working in complex systems eg. political organising, artistic collaboration, religious institutions. Working from the modality of the 'group relations' tradition, this group will have as its primary task to describe and uncover the authority dynamics that emerge within itself collectively and within each of its members. The learning of the group is then applied to specific situations in each member's life. Read more information on our Learning Page.
We run a number of events –primarily for clinicians but many are open to non-clinicians too– seeking to deepen their knowledge and clinical acumen within the field of psychoanalytic practice. Key to our mission is providing a number of opportunities for learning and creative exchange between clinicians of different generations. London is an important home for psychoanalytic thinking and we wish to draw on the rich resources held by clinicians and institutions in the city to create a dynamic programme of seminars and events. We believe it is essential that psychoanalysis do a better job at both advocating and developing its theories and applications. This is our effort to contribute something vibrant and community oriented to our city.
